Dr. Moss Teaching

Wofford's biology department offers a broad range of courses in botany, ecology, genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and neurobiology.  The department also offers upper-level seminars such as "Case Studies in Biomedicine," co-taught by a medical school professor and a seminar entitled "Case Studies in Public Health," combining medical knowledge with areas sociological and cultural considerations.

"Wofford is a special place that really gives back what you put in.  We are not treated like machines, but as young adults trying to find a niche in life."
 - Eric Cole '99, M.D., University of South Carolina School of Medicine

Brian Greene
Brian Greene ’05, a National Science Foundation Fellow, is pursing post-graduate research on how flood frequency affects plant diversity. His NSF proposal was based on research that he completed for a Wofford honors project. "Specifically, I am looking at floodplain forests in the Southeast and how human meditated impacts have changed the flooding patterns and thus the plant diversity," says Greene. Greene is now working toward a PhD in Cornell University’s department of natural resources.
